IPL 2023 :Pbks vs RR ,Match 8

 In the TATA IPL 2023 match between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings won by five runs. PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan scored an unbeaten 86 runs while Prabhsimran Singh added 60 runs to help PBKS reach a total of 197/4.

Nathan Ellis took four wickets for PBKS while Sam Curran defended 16 runs in the last over to secure the win. Rajasthan Royals' Yashasvi Jaiswal hit a six off the first ball of the innings but was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in the same over. Jos Buttler was dropped by Harpreet Brar but later hit a four and a six. Ashwin was dismissed for a duck by Arshdeep while Sanju Samson hit a six in his first shot.

Sanju Samson hit two consecutive fours off Harpreet Brar and then hit Nathan Ellis for two fours in a row. But Ellis struck back by dismissing Jos Buttler caught and bowled for 19 runs. RR scored 57/3 at the end of the Powerplay. Samson and Devdutt Padikkal added 34 runs together before Ellis had Samson caught at long off for 42 runs. Riyan Parag hit some boundaries but was caught at long off by Ellis for 20 runs. Ellis also cleaned up Padikkal for 21 runs to reduce RR to 124/6 in the 15th over.

PBKS won the match against RR by five runs. RR won the toss and chose to bowl first. PBKS made a good start with Prabhsimran Singh hitting boundaries early on. He hit his maiden IPL fifty off 28 balls. Bhanuka Rajapaksa retired hurt after a ball from Shikhar Dhawan hit his hand. PBKS captain Dhawan scored a fifty off 36 balls. Jitesh Sharma contributed with 27 runs. R Ashwin and Dhruv Jurel took one wicket each for RR. PBKS finished with a score of 221/6.

In their chase, RR lost wickets early on. Chris Morris scored 36 off 18 balls, and Shivam Dube contributed 46 off 32 balls. Rahul Tewatia added 40 off 19 balls. Dhruv Jurel scored an unbeaten 32 off 15 balls and was named the Impact Player for PBKS. Shimron Hetmyer scored 36 off 18 balls. Harpreet Brar took two wickets for PBKS. Despite the good batting performance by RR, PBKS managed to defend their total and won the match.
